In this case, Rahul Mishra took us to an introspective trip of his memories with his Fall’18 Ready-to-wear collection. The materials, such as sequins, brocade and bright fabrics make us think of remembrances of happy moments. Indian designer particularly reflected his memories of cities in some of the ensembles, where we see the images in pleated skirts and Indian dresses, as well as in some clothing with dimensional and tridimensional prints.
It is certainly a collection that lights up public’s heart thanks to the personal tone Rahul Mishra decided to share.

Sarah Burton took her inspiration from nature to show women’s evolution by celebrating their greatness. She used the metaphor of the caterpillar turning into a butterfly. Designs make us this of this beautiful insect thanks to the volume in the shoulders, a lower part rather lean and a tight waist area. We see skirts and dresses with butterfly motives and some others with internal and external diagonal lines that also resemble its silhouette. The runway followed a line of continuity that started with outfits of coats and jackets representing caterpillar’s protection bags, and culminates with the emergence of the butterfly; we particularly observe this with two ensembles: one of a dress with big volume on the shoulders thanks to pink puffy frills that represent the wings and in the lower area layers of the same color. A second more stylized design, formed by a black coat and a big red bow on the back imitating butterfly’s silhouette.

Some of the ensembles are much more futurist than the others, but what they all have in common is that it seems they have been taken out from a sci-fi movie. Silver, neon colors and PVC dominate the runway; PVC looks particularly amazing and innovative in the collection’s footwear. What I enjoyed the most, apart from our little trip to the future of course, was the power and strong presence Olivier Rousteing’s designs communicate. Balmain’s woman is the woman of the future.

Coats of all styles, from one in brown color for a natural weekend outfit, to one in plain black, above the knee with puffy cuffs at elbow level, that would perfectly go with a romantic look for a special occasion; it was with no doubt my favorite one.
This Spanish fashion house is known for including leathers in their work and as expected, the use of it is noted in accessories as well as in clothing. We saw for example, fur necks as perfect accessory for an autumnal weather; we also observed various of the coats in leather; there was one in turquoise blue with the back uncovered, that I totally loved. Finally, it’s worth mentioning that purses and bags were made of this controversial material as well, from which the favorite ones were a series of lovely big size backpacks in different colors.

In a big stage resembling a concert night, with lights moving all around, Vaccarello presented his Fall’18 Ready-to-wear collection. Color black wasn’t the only protagonist; short clothing was the other element that dominated the runway: short pants, dresses and bodies, all of them with an upper thigh height. If you’re going to dress all in black, you might as well add a contrast with your natural skin color by showing your beautiful legs. Following this year’s vintage trend, Anthony Vaccarello included outfits with volume in shoulders area, as well as leather jackets a very 80’s style. Finally, the cherry on top was the series of black hats that procured to hide model’s look, adding a mysterious touch to the French firm’s collection.
